Spiced oats

Mornings are usually busy in our home, so making something quick, easy and filling is very important. I usually double the recipe and keep the left overs in the fridge. So there is always a readily available for breakfast in the fridge that you can just heat and eat.

Cooking time: 30 minutes


  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 5 cups of boiling water
  • 1 cup Almond milk
  • 1 tbsp ground cardamom
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp all spice
  • 1 tsp salt


  1. Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan except the Almond milk and bring to the boil
  2. Bring the heat down and simmer for 5 minutes
  3. Add the almond milk and let boil for a further 3 minutes
  4. Enjoy with a drizzle of maple syrup and any fruit of your choice
